So many connections have been happening between members lately, I just have to share without giving away too much personal info:
- Healthcare professional and veteran advocate is having lunch in DC with a fellow game changer from the same issue of the magazine this week.
- Telehealth professional giving the spotlight to a game changer with 3D printing expertise via an online presentation.
- Another telehealth professional hand carrying a proposal to a government official for another game changer.
- One member has been busy making great introductions to us here at the League HQ and we’re working to help these people find their road to expansion.
Just a few – big happenings in the works. Stay tuned.
The Sole Doctor’s on the Move
Dr. Wilma Hunt-Watts, Founder of The Sole Doctor, was featured in the latest issue of The Introducer (#10) Veteran Advocates and Entrepreneurs. She’s a leading podiatrist, initially delivering foot care to active military servicemen and women amongst other services. In The Introducer article, she discusses her ambition to work with the Department for Veterans’ Affairs to help build their telemedicine program. She was delighted to have been featured this month on The Karen Hunter Show for the ‘wellness Wednesday’ slot. Dr. Watts’ appearance in The Introducer was also noted in Podiatry Management Online.

A novel way to celebrate one’s birthday…
League Member, Okey Enyia, recently celebrated his birthday by launching his first book and website. He wanted to share the good news with other League Members and to help get the word out about what looks to be a great read, touching on many life issues.
In ‘Indispensable – the story of a favored son‘, Okey describes how:
‘…I take you through the discovery and maturation of my spiritual gifts and deliverance processes; my experiences as a medical student, graduate student, and professional of color; my time in Nigeria with a parallel to the movie Black Panther: health equity and the social determinants of health, mental health, and well-being, the opioid epidemic; key developmental relationships and the importance of mentorship for Black men and boys; staff diversity and employment on Capitol Hill; and my transition into entrepreneurship and education.
I invite you to journey with me. Along the way, I provide policy recommendations, peer-reviewed research, nuanced tips about how to land a job in the workforce, how to succeed on Capitol Hill as a staffer and an advocate, the road to becoming a successful entrepreneur, and how to navigate through challenging career transitions to maximize the life’s work that you have been called to achieve.’
Okey would love it if you’d be able to share with all of your networks, connect on social media (@enyiastrategies for Twitter and Facebook). Pop over to Okey’s website, Enyia Strategies, for more news on upcoming book signings and speaking engagements. You can buy it here.
